New Century Mortgage doesn't want borrowers to spend 100 years trying to qualify for a home loan. The major subsidiary of New Century Financial provides wholesale and retail mortgage loans for single-family homes. The company's wholesale division has about 35 offices throughout the US and originates and purchases mortgages, primarily serving mortgage brokers and correspondent lenders dealing with subprime borrowers (those with impaired or limited credit histories). The retail division, which does business as Home123, has more than 220 branches throughout the US, offering such products as adjustable- and fixed-rate home loans, home equity loans, debt consolidation loans, and mortgage refinancings.
