Its new name reflective of a new perspective on the same area, Central Arkansas Hospital is now White County Medical Center South. Central Arkansas Hospital, formerly part of Triad Hospitals, offers about 200 beds. The hospital, which has a history dating back to the 1920s, provides area residents with specialty care services. During the transition to its new ownership, it has limited its services to inpatiant rehabilitation services and general psychiatric services, though additional services will be added back in the future. Triad in 2005 sold the hospital to regional medical services provider White County Medical Center, a 245-bed facility also located in Searcy, Arkansas.
