Hill Phoenix has been keepin' cool since 1887, when a New Jersey grocer developed the first cold case. The company manufactures industrial walk-in coolers, freezers, and refrigerated display cases. It also makes electrical distribution units that contain switchboards, load centers, and lighting control panels. Aside from the expected supermarkets, other customers of Hill Phoenix include big-box retailers, commercial and industrial refrigeration companies, and convenience stores. In 2009 the company acquired certain assets and intellectual property from Tyler Refrigeration, a unit of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration.
