Hill Phoenix has been keepin' it cool since 1887, when a New Jersey grocer developed the first cold case. The company engineers, manufactures, and markets industrial walk-in coolers, freezers, and refrigerated display cases. It also makes electrical distribution units featuring switchboards, load centers, and lighting control panels. Aside from the expected supermarkets, other customers of Hill Phoenix include big-box retailers, commercial and industrial refrigeration companies, and convenience stores. In 2009 the subsidiary of Dover Corporation mushroomed; Hill Phoenix acquired the assets and IP of Tyler Refrigeration, formerly a unit of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration.
