Pssst: Select Portfolio Servicing (SPS) services mostly subprime residential mortgage loans. In addition to servicing loans for parent company Credit Suisse (USA), SPS services impaired-credit loans and non-performing loans for a variety of third-party clients, including mortgage companies, banks, and bond insurers. It works through a network of brokers to sell lender-owned homes (generally homes that have been previously foreclosed on). The company services some 235,000 loans totaling around $29 billion ($20 billion is subprime). Other services offered include valuations and collections. SPS operates offices in Jacksonville, Florida, and Salt Lake City.
