ESCO is well ensconced as a global manufacturer of engineered metal parts, castings, and components for industrial machinery. The company's two operating groups are Engineered Products and Turbine Technologies. It employees about 4,500 personnel and operates some 25 manufacturing facilities. ESCO provides such services as contract manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain management, as well as specialized services to the aerospace, construction, industrial, mining, and power generation markets. Customers include Bucyrus, Caterpillar, and Komatsu. ESCO was founded in Portland, Oregon, by C. F. Swigert in 1913 as an Electric Steel Foundry; its products at that time included trolley car replacement parts.
