Turning onshore and offshore oil and gas activities into onshore profits is the business of Vetco Gray. A unit of GE Oil & Gas the company (which does business as VetcoGray) provides upstream production facilities, process systems, technology, services, and products. It maintains, modifies, and manages technologies for offshore oil and gas production plants. Its products include connectors, controls, and valves able to withstand harsh environments. In 2007 Vetco Gray was acquired by General Electric for $1.9 billion. The deal boosted GE Oil & Gas' range of oilfield services, products, and technologies.
