Albany Medical Center provides upscale medical care to the residents of upstate New York. Serving 25 counties in eastern New York and western New England, the health system has at its heart the 650-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital, a general medical-surgical facility that also provides specialty care in areas such as oncology, rehabilitation, and organ transplantation. Additionally, Albany Medical Center features a children's hospital, an outpatient surgery center, and a group medical practice. Its Albany Medical College, one of the nation's first private medical schools, offers undergraduate and graduate medical degrees and residency programs, as well as fellowships and continuing medical education.
