Coeur d'Alene Mines gets to the heart of the matter when it comes to precious metals. A leading primary silver producer, the company holds interests in silver and gold properties in Africa, Australia, North America, and South America. It produces about 12 million ounces of silver and 45,000 ounces of gold annually. Coeur d'Alene has proved and probable reserves of about 250 million ounces of silver and 2 million ounces of gold. Coeur d'Alene produces most of its revenue from the Rochester mine in Nevada and the Cerro Bayo mine in Chile. Sales of silver account for about two-thirds of the company's revenue. Most of the minerals are sold to bullion-trading banks and to smelters.
