Bush Industries is jockeying for a permanent seat in the ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture industry. A leading maker of RTA furniture for homes and offices through its Bush Furniture North America and Europe divisions, Bush's products are sold worldwide through about 10,000 retail outlets, including furniture and department stores, electronics and office product retailers, and mass merchandisers. It boasts three brands: Bush Business Furniture, Bush Furniture, and Röhr. Founded by the Bush family in 1959, the manufacturer is now owned by a group led by DDJ Capital Management LLC and JPMorgan Chase Bank. Like many furniture makers, Bush Industries has focused on consolidating its manufacturing operations.
