Barnwell Industries has more than a barnful of assets, which range from oil and gas production, contract well drilling, and Hawaiian land and housing investments. Barnwell Industries explores for and produces oil and natural gas primarily in Alberta. It has proved reserves of 1.4 million barrels of oil and 24 billion cu. ft. of gas. Subsidiary Water Resources International drills water and geothermal wells and installs and repairs water pump systems in Hawaii. The company also owns a 78% interest in Kaupulehu Developments, which owns leasehold rights to more than 1,000 acres in Hawaii. In 2007 Barnwell Industries established a real estate development segment to acquire house lots and build single-family homes.
