The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company chews up the competition as the world's #1 maker of chewing and bubble gum. The company's products include such popular brands as Big Red, Doublemint, Spearmint, Eclipse, Extra, Freedent, and Juicy Fruit, as well as novelty gums (Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape and other kid-friendly chews). It also offers non-gum products including the breath mints Altoids and Velamints and the candies Creme Savers and Life Savers. In addition, Wrigley makes chewing-gum bases and is a player in the ingredients sector with its Northwestern Flavors division. The founding Wrigley family sold the company to confectionery leader Mars in 2008.
