If a tree falls in a Weyerhaeuser forest, someone is there to hear it -- and he has a chainsaw. One of the top US forest products companies, Weyerhaeuser operates along several business lines, including Wood Products (lumber, plywood, and other building materials) and Pulp and Paper (pulp and coated and uncoated papers). Also, its Timberlands division manages some 6 million acres of company-owned US timberland and nearly 15 million acres of leased Canadian timberland. Its Real Estate unit develops housing and master-planned communities. Weyerhaeuser merged its fine paper business with Domtar.
