The firm runs every step of the manufacturing process: from weaving raw fibers into fabric to dyeing, cutting, and sewing it into sweatshirts, sweatpants, T-shirts, and tanks to selling them through retailers and other outlets. Its Russell Athletic division supplies uniforms for baseball's Minor League, the US Olympics, and Little League Baseball. Its JERZEES unit is a major supplier of fleecewear and T-shirts for retailers and screen printers. Berkshire Hathaway's Fruit of the Loom unit acquired Russell in mid-2006 for some $600 million.
