This Jim Palmer isn't related to the former Baltimore Orioles pitcher, but Jim Palmer Trucking wants to move freight the way the National Baseball Hall of Fame member threw strikes -- and to stay as cool in the process. Jim Palmer Trucking offers truckload transportation of temperature-controlled cargo with a fleet of about 350 tractors and 500 trailers. The company operates throughout the US from terminals in Denver; Missoula, Montana; and Salina, Kansas. After voluntarily filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in mid-2008, the company emerged from bankruptcy in May 2009. It cited the rising costs of fuel as one of the primary reasons for its financial woes.
