Making television audiences laugh is deadly serious to Comedy Partners. The subsidiary of MTV Networks operates cable network Comedy Central, the home of such hits as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, and South Park. The channel, which reaches more than 95 million US homes, also broadcasts feature film comedies, stand-up comedy specials, and syndicated sitcoms. In addition to its TV network, Comedy Partners promotes comedy CDs through Comedy Central Records, releases its shows on DVD, and distributes multimedia content through its Web site. MTV Networks is the cable entertainment arm of media giant Viacom.
