AGC America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Glass, the world's #1 maker of flat glass. AGC America is the holding company for Asahi's major subsidiaries in North America which include eight companies involved in the manufacture of products for the chemicals, glass, and electronics industries. AGC Flat Glass North America and its companies make architectural, automotive, flat, float, figured, and other processed glass. AGC Chemicals Americas manufactures and markets fluorochemicals, caustic soda, specialty chemicals, and soda ash for glass production. AGC Electronics America makes high-purity silicon carbide and synthetic quartz glass for semiconductors and glass substrates for LCDs.
