Adams Respiratory Therapeutics is responsible for more productive coughs. Formerly known as Adams Laboratories, the firm makes over-the-counter remedies for respiratory ailments. The drugmaker's best-selling Mucinex-branded products are extended-release expectorants based upon on guaifenesin to help the body rid itself of excess mucus. Mucinex line of products now include tablets, nasal sprays, and formulations for children. Its other products include time-released cough suppressants under the Delsym brand. Adams' products are sold at food, drug, and mass retail stores in the US. The company is a subsidiary of consumer products giant Reckitt Benckiser.
