Popeye himself would probably approve of Allens' business. The company, formerly called Allen Canning , produces a full line of canned and frozen vegetables (including Popeye's fave, spinach) for the retail food and foodservice industries. Its brands include Allens, Butterfield, Popeye, Princella, Royal Prince, Sunshine, Sugary Sam, and Trappey's, along with Freshlike and Veg·All (both of which it purchased from Birds Eye in 2002 and 2003, respectively). The Arkansas-headquartered company's veggies are sold in grocery stores throughout the US. Allens, founded in 1926, is a family-owned and -operated company.
