The company has shifted its focus from highway construction to paving materials. It supplies materials to make roads, including asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and crushed stone. APAC operates quarries, aggregate production facilities, ready-mix concrete plants, hot-mix asphalt plants, and a large fleet of mobile equipment and a rail line. The company was formed in 1879 when it supplied asphalt for the first commercial asphalt road in the US. APAC is experiencing growth through acquisitions as it strengthens operations in the Southeast and looks to expand in the Midwest and Central states.
