Lafayette Life Insurance Company may have the name of a Frenchman, but its business is all American. Licensed throughout most of the US, the company sells individual life insurance and annuities, as well as group annuities and retirement services. Its qualified markets division helps small businesses administer their retirement plans, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans. The company quit writing group life and disability insurance in 2008 to focus on its core operations. Founded in 1905, Lafayette Life was acquired by Cincinnati-based Western & Southern Financial Group in 2005.
