Adam's Mark Hotels & Resorts wants to leave its mark on the hotel industry. The company owns and operates a handful of hotels, including Adam's Mark Buffalo-Niagara and Adam's Mark Indianapolis. In 2008 former Adam's Mark parent HBE Corporation, a medical construction company, sold the hotel chain to San Francisco hotel investment and advisory firm Chartres Lodging Group LLC for $18.6 million. Concurrent with the purchase, the new parent announced a $238 million renovation, rebranding, and repositioning plan for the acquired properties. Kokua Hospitality, a property management firm affiliated with The Chartres Lodging Group, manages the Adam's Mark hotels.
