A European (Leonardo da Vinci) sketched the first helicopter more than 500 years ago. Nowadays, Eurocopter -- a subsidiary of European Aeronautic, Defense and Space Company (EADS) -- builds a range of military and civilian helicopters that are anything but sketchy. Europe's largest helicopter maker, Eurocopter makes a full range of civilian and military helicopters and offers helicopter repair, maintenance, and overhaul services. Civilian models include the Colibri, the Ecureuil, the Dauphin, and the Super Puma; military models include the Tiger, Panther, Cougar, and NH90. Eurocopter was formed by the 1992 merger of the helicopter operations of Daimler Aerospace and Aerospatiale Matra.
