Morgan Creek Productions aims to keep a steady stream of movies flowing out of Hollywood. The company's films dominated the box office in the late 1980s and early '90s, and include many successful titles from that era, including True Romance, Pacific Heights, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Major League, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. In recent years Morgan Creek has only produced a handful of movies, the most significant one being the Academy Award-nominated The Good Shepherd. Morgan Creek distributes its films domestically through a deal with Universal Pictures. The company was founded by producer James G. Robinson (co-chairman and CEO) in 1988 when it released its first film, Young Guns.
