Disney ABC Cable Networks Group wants to work a little magic on the television dial. The unit of Disney-ABC Television Group owns and operates a portfolio of cable television channels including entertainment channels ABC Family and SOAPnet. It also owns Disney Channels Worldwide which operates kids networks the Disney Channel and Disney XD; other kids programming is distributed under the Jetix name. (Through ABC Family, Disney ABC Cable owns animation distributor Jetix Europe.) In addition, Disney ABC Cable holds a 37% stake in A&E Television and a 50% stake in Lifetime Entertainment. Disney-ABC Television Group oversees the television broadcasting, production, and distribution operations of Walt Disney.
