The company is a leading television station operator with more than 50 stations serving 30 small and midsized markets in the Northeast, Midwest, and Southwest; Nexstar has duopolies (two or more stations) in about half its markets. Its portfolio includes more than a dozen affiliates each of the FOX and NBC networks, as well as stations affiliated with ABC, CBS, The CW, and MyNetworkTV. More than 15 of its TV stations are operated through local service agreements with Mission Broadcasting, which owns those broadcast licenses. Private investment firm ABRY Partners has majority control in the company.
