Global eXchange Services (GXS) wants the world to transact. The company operates one of the world's largest business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce networks, connecting 30,000 trading partners and managing more than a billion transactions each year. It also offers electronic data interchange (EDI) software and services, helping trading partners exchange electronic documents that are essential for business transactions. Other applications address shipping and labeling, product information management, order management, and logistics functions. Founded in the early 1960s as the information technology division of General Electric (GE), GXS was later sold to technology turnaround specialist Francisco Partners.
