Manufactured housing company Giles Industries builds homes with single-wide and double-wide floorplans. The company also produces modular buildings used as garages or office space. Giles offers its products primarily in the mid-Atlantic and southeastern regions of the US. Tennessee native R. O. Giles founded the copmany in 1959. His grandson, Alan Neely, is the company's president. Giles Industries is among Berkshire Hathaway's trailer park of companies that make manufactured homes. It was bought by Southern Energy Homes in 2006 -- the same year that company was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway's Clayton Homes.
