Irwin Toy successor iToys is spinning happily again. Once a publicly traded company, Irwin Toy filed for bankruptcy protection with the Canadian courts in 2002, 18 months after being sold to a Canadian investment firm in 2001. Banking on the Irwin Toy name's 75 years of brand recognition, brothers George and Peter Irwin, sons of the company's founder, re-purchased the rights to the Irwin Toy name in 2003. They have taken it back to basics as a newly formed, private company. iToys's best-known products include I-Top (an electronic-spinning top programmed with four games), Baby So Real, and Girl Zone. iToys launched a new toy line in 2009 named Biggest Loser.
