When it comes to growing money, Morgan Stanley Investment Management has a green thumb. Operating under the Morgan Stanley and Van Kampen brands, the company manages some $570 billion for institutional and high-net-worth individual clients around the world. The unit offers equity, fixed-income, and multi-asset products, as well as alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equity funds, and funds of funds. It administers pension plans for employers too. Part of Morgan Stanley, Morgan Stanley Investment Management has offices in Europe as well as India, Japan, Singapore, and the US. Invesco is buying the retail portion of Morgan Stanley's investment management business.
