What's next for NexTrade Holdings? The company sold the NexTrade electronic communications network (ECN), which provided electronic trading of Nasdaq securities, to Citigroup in 2006, and since then has concentrated on becoming a holding company for various subsidiaries. It holds patents on expirationless options (XPOs), which, as their name suggests, are options on underlying assets such as equities, bonds, currencies, and commodities and have no expiration date. The company also owns broker-dealer Anderen Capital, which focuses on securities underwriting and wealth management. In addition, NexTrade Holdings is one of the primary owners of Anderen Bank, which has about five branches in the Tampa Bay area.
