The Beggars Group feeds the hungry music-lover's soul. The company boasts a collection of recording labels, including 4AD, XL Recordings, Wiiija and Mo'Wax, Beggars Banquet, Mantra Recordings, and Too Pure. The group also owns 50% of New York-based indie label Matador Records. Current Beggars Group artists include the Devastations, the Mark Lanegan Band, and Tindersticks. Catalog artists include Bauhaus, John Cale, The Cult, Gene Loves Jezebel, and Gary Numan. Martin Mills launched Beggars Banquet in 1976, with the onset of the punk music scene in the UK.
