Grant Thornton grants accounting wishes to US clients. The firm encompasses the US operations of Grant Thornton International, one of the largest accountancies outside of the Big Four (Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers). The firm has some 50 US offices. In addition to auditing, Grant Thornton provides its customers with such services as Sarbanes-Oxley expertise, mergers and acquisitions advice, tax services, and business valuations. Target industries include construction, consumer goods, financial services, health care, and technology. Founded as Alexander Richardson in 1924, the firm took its current name in 1986 when it joined with the UK firm Thornton Baker.
