Despite its name Cavalier Telephone takes a serious approach to residential and business telecommunications. The facilities-based competitive local-exchange carrier (CLEC) offers local and long-distance phone services in 16 states in the eastern, southeastern, and midwestern US; its fiber network spans about 17,000 miles. The company also offers broadband Internet and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony services. It offers digital television services through an agreement with direct broadcast satellite provider DIRECTV. Cavalier Telephone provides business data services such as private networks and broadband data connections through its Intellifiber Networks division.
