AIG Investments is gaga for its investment management gig. The company manages investments in equities, fixed-income securities, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate. The investment arm of insurance giant American International Group (AIG), it oversees approximately $480 billion in assets, primarily for its parent company but also for other institutional investors. Most of its assets under management are invested in fixed-income products. The firm also has expertise in private banking, trading, and treasury. AIG Investments and affiliated entities operate about 45 offices in major cities around the world. AIG is selling a portion of AIG Investments to Pacific Century Group for some $500 million.
