If you work at Andor Capital Management, does that make you an Andorean? Sci-fi alien or not, Andor Capital Management was launched when famed tech investor Dan Benton and former partner Art Samberg (the two had co-founded Pequot Capital Management ) amicably split. Benton lured employees from other hedge funds and from such firms as FMR, JPMorgan Chase, and Piper Jaffray to join him at Andor Capital Management when he launched the hedge fund in 2001. The firm has about $2 billion in assets under management, down from the $7.5 billion it started with when Benton left Pequot. The fund announced in 2008 that it is shutting down.
