This cable TV company hopes you'll call for an Encore for its movie Starz. Starz Entertainment operates a portfolio of about 15 cable movie channels under the brands Encore and Starz offering about 1,000 movie titles every month. Its Encore channels reach almost 30 million US homes, while its Starz channels (including Starz Comedy, Starz Edge, and Starz Kids & Family) reach more than 16 million subscribers. Starz Entertainment also operates video on demand (VOD) channels, as well as broadband movie service Vongo. John Sie launched the Encore movie channel in 1991, followed by the Starz channel in 1994. Starz Entertainment is part of Liberty Starz, a tracking stock of John Malone's Liberty Media holding company.
