Harvey and Bob made a living courting Oscar. Formed in 1979 by brothers and former co-chairmen Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Miramax is historically known for producing and distributing Oscar-nominated films such as The Queen, The English Patient, and Shakespeare in Love. Its highbrow, niche films also perform well commercially. In recent years the company found success with the critical darling No Country for Old Men, the Coen brothers' adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel, which won four major Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Director). Other recent Miramax titles include Doubt and Happy-Go-Lucky. The company is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios.
