The outlets offer about 30 types of blended fruit drinks with names like "Frozen Goat," "Mr. Mongo," and "Spazz." Enthusiasts can customize their beverages by adding any of eight Blasts -- blends of supplements and vitamins to increase energy, help burn fat, or aid immune systems. The company also has a small number of Planet Smoothie Cafes featuring salads, sandwiches, and wraps. Martin Sprock opened the first Planet Smoothie in 1995. Private equity firm Edmonds Capital acquired the chain in 2009 from Sprock's Atlanta-based Raving Brands.
