CTVglobemedia might not rule the world but it does own The Globe. The company is a leading media conglomerate with holdings in publishing and broadcasting. Its operations include The Globe and Mail, one of Canada's top newspapers with a circulation of more than 900,000. The company also owns CTV, a leading television broadcaster that operates the CTV network and more than 20 TV stations. CTVglobemedia also owns radio stations (CHUM Radio Network) and has stakes in the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs sports teams. Formed in 2001, CTVglobemedia is 40%-owned by The Woodbridge Company, a holding firm for the Thomson family; other investors include Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (25%) and Torstar (20%).
