Bricorama (brico is French for do it yourself) sells bric-a-brac, home and garden furnishings, and hardware for do-it-yourself types. About half of its more than 175 company-owned and franchised stores are in France, with the rest scattered across the Benelux countries, especially Belgium (about 35 Gamma and Karwei stores), and Spain. The company also sells electrical, gardening, and building products. As part of an ongoing expansion plan, the French retailer entered the Spanish market in 2006 and has grown its retail presence to five Bricorama stores there. The founding Bourrelier family (including president Jean-Claude Bourrelier) controls Bricorama.
