Emida takes its cue from the demand for prepaid phone services. The company is a reseller of prepaid telecommunication products purchased from wireless, long-distance, and other telecom operators. It sells its products through terminals that are placed in more than 20,000 convenience stores and other retail centers. Customers can add credit to prepaid phone and debit cards or activate service using a personal identification number (PIN) using the terminals. The company markets its services in the Americas, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Emida resells services from such network carriers as AT&T, the Central and South American subsidiaries of Spain-based Telefónica, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.
