Syngenta helps to feed the world. The company is neck and neck and neck with Bayer CropScience and Monsanto to be recognized as the world's largest agrochemical company. The company produces crop protection products (insecticides, herbicides, fungicides), field crop seeds (soybeans), vegetable seeds (corn, beans, tomatoes), and flowers. Syngenta and Myriad Genetics have mapped the rice genome, which could make rice crops more resistant to disease and lead to the genetic mapping of other cereals like wheat and corn. Since the middle of this decade Syngenta has made a point of building up its seeds segment through more than a dozen acquisitions.
