"T" for telephone, "T" for transcontinental, and "T" for T-Mobile International, one of Europe's top mobile phone companies. A subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile controls the parent's wireless operations, including T-Mobile Deutschland, T-Mobile (UK), and T-Mobile Austria. Add a "T" for transatlantic: T-Mobile operates in the US through T-Mobile USA which accounts for the company's largest subscriber base outside of Germany; subsidiaries in the UK and Poland round out the top three in terms of customers per country. All told, the company has about 120 million subscribers in 10 countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Slovakia, the UK, and the US.
