ADL plc owns and manages about a dozen nursing homes and care facilities with nearly 300 beds in the UK. Its Allambie Court and Newsham House facilities are certified for housing elderly patients with mental problems or dementia who also require nursing care. In addition to its owned locations, the company manages Woodland Healthcare Limited, which has three homes totaling about 100 beds. It operates South Garth Residential Care Home, with about 20 beds, as a joint venture. The company's moniker, ADL, is taken from what it calls the "basis of patient assessment - Activities of Daily Living."
