Pacnet offers Asia the best of both worlds. The company was created after telephone service provider Asia Netcom and Internet service provider Pacific Internet merged in January 2008. Pacnet is now the sole owner of the region's most extensive telecommunications network. The company owns and operates the $4 billion submarine cable fiber-optic network known as the EAC-C2C, which connects the major Asian markets of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, and Japan over a 36,800-kilometer submarine cable system. Pacnet serves the carriers' market, large enterprises, and SMEs.
