Discovery Partners International (DPI) has taken on a new partner as it enters a new age of learning. Previously providing research products and services to clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries to expedite the drug-discovery process, today its focus has completely changed. In 2006 DPI merged with Infinity Pharmaceuticals to form a company that develops cancer treatments, particularly for pancreatic and prostate cancers. As part of the deal, Discovery Partners sold the entirety of its drug discovery service operations to Galapagos for $5.4 million.
