MMI Holdings makes precision electro-mechanical components and other components including hard-disk drives used in TVs and projectors for OEMs on a contract basis. The company also makes lasers, mobile phones, and semiconductor test equipment. Products are sold to the semiconductor, data storage, imaging, photonics, and wireless communications industries. In addition, MMI Holdings has a clean room division that provides assembly, contamination analysis, and cleaning services. The company has facilities in China, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Co-founded in 1989 by managing director Teh Bong Lim, the company was acquired by Precision Capital Pte. Ltd., a KKR affiliate, in 2007.
