Amplifon USA manufactures and distributes internal (cosmetic and comfort styles) and external (behind-the-ear) hearing aids. The company's brands and businesses include Miracle-Ear, which parent Amplifon S.p.A. acquired in 1999, and Sonus, which joined the Amplifon family in 2002. Amplifon USA also provides hearing aid check-up, cleaning, and maintenance services at some 4,000 owned or affiliated clinics throughout the US that operate under the Amplifon, Miracle-Ear, and Sonus brand names. Many of the Miracle-Ear clinics are located in Sears stores. The company operates about 100 Amplifon Hearing Aid Centers located in Wal-Mart stores. It also provides hearing benefit plans through its HearPO division.
