Camtek gives printed circuit board makers a snapshot of their wares so they can improve their processes. The company makes automated optical inspection (AOI) systems and related products that detect defects in printed circuit boards (PCBs), interconnect substrates, and semiconductor packaging; it has more than 1,900 systems installed worldwide. AOI equipment is designed to reduce errors and improve production yields for these electronic components, which are used in virtually all modern high-tech gear. Customers include top board manufacturers, such as Sanmina-SCI and Viasystems, as well as many chip makers.
