One of Spain's largest brewers, Mahou, S.A., which does business as Mahou-San Miguel, produces San Miguel, Mahou, and Selecta beers at its Madrid brewery. The company also makes Eco, which it touts as an environmentally friendly, organic beer. It also offers non-alcoholic brews, such as Laiker and Mixta. The company's flagship San Miguel brand is available in more than 35 countries, mainly in Europe (Carlsberg markets the San Miguel brand in the UK). Strengthening its market position, the company acquired rival Spanish brewer, Cervezas Alhambra, in 2007. The brewery was founded in 1890.
